Hi, I’m Ken. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to backpack around the world. I enjoy learning about and experiencing other cultures, foods, people. The world is such a huge place and it wasn’t enough for me to look at these things through a TV or magazine. I had to see/smell/taste/hear/touch it for myself. And back in 2010, 2014, and 2018, I set off on three separate trips to explore different areas of the globe.
I hope you enjoy the stories here and I also hope some of it may aid your future travels or inspire you to “Keep on Traveling”. Thanks, Rick Steves.
Have fun Kenneth! You’re finally off!
You’ll always look back fondly to this experience. Never hold back to new experiences. Fall in love (to a place or the opposite sex), get your heart broken, constantly be amazed at your surroundings, and open yourself up to disappointments while on the road. If you miss your train or plane, lose your passport or baggage, just shrug it off, deal with it, and everything else will work itself out.
Good luck and congratulations on being able to experience the real world!
Hey thanks Mike!
I am SO HAPPY that you’re doing what you’ve always wanted! Go for gold KK!
And I’m envious and jealous that you get dirt cheap beer. Huff.
Dirt cheap GOOD beer too 🙂 Thanks Mei.
Hi Ken,
I found your blog about your round the world travels, and I was hoping you might be interested in answering a Q&A about RTW to be featured on travelated.com. We’re starting a new Q&A section on the site, and would love to have you on it. If you have time, could you complete our RTW Q&A survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/C797CJJ ? We’d run a short bio about you with a link to your blog along with the Q&A.
Thanks for your time,
Emily

Done.
Hi Ken,
I got your blog address from a work-friend of ours here in Austin. I admire your photos and commentaries. Every photo looked wonderful. The pizza really impressed me. It resembles an organic pizza I got here in Austin that was also made in Italy. It was wonderful, with a flavored crust that tasted entirely great, but different from great American pizzas that I’ve had in NJ and now, here in Austin. Please email me, or call, as I had a question I’d like your input on. Thanks, Pat pmoast@sbcglobal.net (512-426-5981)
Dear. The manager of KK’s Travel Blog
Let me begin by expressing my company’s interests about your blog.
We’re very impressed by your useful and dynamic blog.
I first would like to introduce myself.
I’m Sunshine Lee, working for the Jeollabuk-do Tourism Association in the Republic of Korea as an English interpreter. On behalf of the Jeollabuk-do Tourism Association, I’m writing this e-mail to ask the manager of “KK’s Travel Blog” to help us with promoting Jeollabuk-do tourism overseas.
For more information about Jeollabuk-do, please let me provide a brief description of Jeollabuk-do.
Jeollabuk-do is located in the mid-western part of the Korean peninsula and consists of 6 cities and 8 counties. We have a population of about 2 million and 4 parks of the total 20 national parks in South Korea. Aside from that, there are many of fascinating tourist attractions throughout the province including the longest seawall, “Saemangeum”, in the world.
Jeollabuk-do is famous for its well preserved traditional Korean cultural aspects, such as food, music, and architecture. Jeonju Hanok Village, Gochang Dolmen (designated as a World Heritage by UNESCO), and Jinan Mt. Maisan, they have received the highest rating of “three stars” by the Michelin Green Guide Book Korean version 2011.
We would like to propose the following :
First, we would like to sign an MOU (memorandum of understanding ) between
your blog and the Jeollabuk-do Tourism Association to cooperate with each other.
Second, we would appreciate the posting of tourism information of Jeollabuk-do that we prepare at your blog. (about once a week, until December 2011)
Third, we would like to invite the manager of “KK’s Travel Blog” to participate in Jeollbuk-do’s fam tour (familiarization tour) that we’ll hold for 4 days / 3 nights.
(We will cover all of the expenses, airline tickets, accommodation, dining, local travel expenses, etc.)
Fourth, after participating in Jeollabuk-do’s fam tour (familiarization tour), we would appreciate the posting of your feelings & opinions about Jeollabuk-do at your blog.
If you’re interested in this, please send your contact information including contact number.
We’ll be looking forward to your reply, and wish your blog tremendous success.
We hope to meet you in Jeollabuk-do!
Sincerely Yours,
Sunshine Lee
